Methodology

How we built this ranking

Measure: Share of households with no internet subscription (Census estimate).

Who is included: Towns and cities with a page on this site and at least 1,000 Census households; smaller places are left out because survey estimates for them have wide margins of error. Ties are broken by number of households, larger first.

Sources: FCC National Broadband Map (provider filings as of December 30, 2025); U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey (ACS 5-year 2020-2024). Rankings are computed by software from these files; no figure is estimated by us.

Limits: these are area summaries, not address checks. Providers can serve one street and not the next. Read our methodology · Editorial policy
